Will the governments and corporations that control the material order of the world be capable of understanding in time that the disasters like earthquakes or tsunamis, which they only manage to define as natural phenomenon, are the furious words of those our people know as kaka+yarixi, deities or fundamental forces of nature that feel, think and have the word that permits us to live?

El siguiente es un análisis actualizado y científico sobre la clasificación legal del peyote como sustancia controlada por el Estado bajo la premisa de que representa un grave riesgo para la salud y por su supuesta carencia de valor terapéutico. La clasificación farmacológica que criminaliza y castiga la posesión de esta tradicional medicina de los pueblos originarios del continente fue impuesta por Estados Unidos en La Convención Única Internacional sobre Psicotrópicos de Viena el 21 de febrero de 1971.

The following report is an up-to-date scientific analysis on the legal classification of Peyote as a controlled substance by the State under the premise that it represents a serious health risk for humans and for its supposed lack of therapeutic value. The pharmacological classification that criminalizes and punishes the possession of this traditional medicine of the First Nations of the Continent was imposed by The United States at the International Convention on Psychotropic Substances in Vienna on the 21st of February of 1971.

The Huichol called the Canadian mining project an "unlawful imposition" and part of a "a deepening war of extermination against our native peoples" in an October 2010 manifesto entitled Declaration in Defense of Wirikuta. Nearly 70 per cent of First Majestic's mining rights fall within the Wirikuta Reserve, an area designated a Natural Sacred Site in 2001 by the state of San Luis de Potosí.

The Huichol believe a god appeared here in the form of a deer. With his antlers he first raised the sun into the heavens. So each year the Huichol trek across 800 kilometres of arid wilderness to their sacred summit Leunar. There they eat a sacred cactus and pray "that our ancient culture does not disappear. . . and the candles of life that give meaning to our identity are renewed."

 

The 6,327 hectares covered by First Majestic's mining rights contain an estimated $1.325 billion worth of silver.

La lucha por Wirikuta cruza la frontera

Fue un encuentro de culturas inolvidable: Lakota, Navajo, Chippewa, Cree, Coahuilteca, Chichimeca y más, juntaron cerebros y corazones con nuestros hermanos Wixaritari en un hogan (conocido como kaliwey para los wixaritari) del sur de Texas.
